What is the Critical Skills Employment Permit?
The Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) is Ireland's premier work permit, designed to attract highly skilled professionals in occupations that are in significant shortage, from software developers and engineers to nurses and data specialists. Unlike a standard work visa, it is built to encourage you to settle in Ireland permanently.
To qualify, you need a job offer of at least 2 years from a company registered and trading in Ireland, in a role that is either on the Critical Skills Occupations List (at the standard salary threshold) or in almost any other professional role paying above the higher threshold.

Employers don't need to advertise your role to EU candidates first. That means faster hiring decisions and permits typically issued within weeks.
Family From Day One
Your spouse or partner and children can join you immediately. Partners get Stamp 1G, which is full permission to work in Ireland with no separate permit needed.
Stamp 4 After 2 Years
After two years you can apply for Stamp 4: work for any employer without a permit, change jobs freely, and build towards citizenship eligibility.

Target employers that actually sponsor

Secure a 2-year job offer
Interview and land an offer of at least 24 months from an Irish-registered employer. The employer or you then apply for the permit, with no labour market test needed.
